OLIVER SACHS!? DAN LEVETIN!? BRUNO REPP!?  What are these patterns called by your area of academia?  I showed this to a cardiologist who especially prides himself on the ‘that is a pattern’ or that is NOT a pattern’ distinction.  There are similarities here, and though I may have doubted them, the Doctor did not.

However, he is a heart surgeon!  Any of you – especially the “big 3″ as per named above – if you have a simple way to explain these, *please8 join the conversation.

Thanks!
