Hey Soul Sister by Train is a popular song where the mean speed, or average expected tempo was in a tape loop in my head for a while.  I was not able to find out the name of the song as my voice is not good enough to sing it.  Finally, though, I heard it on a number of commercials on tv and found out the name of the song.

The past couple of days I have looped this song together with two other songs at the same speed – “The Tracks Of My Tears” by Smokey Robinson, “Soldier Boy” by the Shirelles and the Burt Bacharach version of “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head” and thge Serious Hits Live version of “IN THE AIR TONIGHT” BY Phil Collins.

What effect does this have?  For me it allows me to set a mood for the day and to control the speed of my mind.  It does help to have a catalog of songs with their corresponding tempos.
