“Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite” is a song written by John Lennon with help from Paul McCartney for the album by the Beatles called Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.
The song was written when the Beatles were on a lunch break in recording the album. John went into an antiques shop and bought a poster of an circus promotion dating from the late 1800s. Almost word for word, the lyrics of the song are on the poster. John always claimed he was not very happy with this “filler” song, meaning that The Beatles album needed another song to literally fill the time on the record.
